Sticky The Auction House

The Auction House is created for premium members to put up their amulet for auction. The primary objective is to allow them to auction off their amulets other than the conventional sales methods, which the forum offers at the Sales Mart. Through research, there were also some popular beliefs that this is the fastest and the most effective way to liquidate products/mechandise. This is just another method for letting go of your amulets.

How does it work?

1. State in your thread, the amulet picture(s), the Start Price, every increment value and the Buy Now Price (Optional). There will be no Reserved Price as this is replaced by Start Price. i.e. if an amulet was only meant to be auction off for at least SGD30 as Reserved Price, then this SGD30 will be the Start Price.

a. Start Price = This is the minimum starting price a seller determines. This is also the "Reserved Price".
b. Increment value = This is the amount that increases over each bid in dollars, no cents. Minimum SGD1 per increment value as determined by seller.
c. Buy Now Price (Optional) = This is the price which surpass all ongoing bids and amulet will be sold. Bidder who chooses Buy Now Price wins the auction.

2. Auction validity solely depends on the threadstarter/seller/auctioneer. But be adviced, please do not put up an amulet auction that last up to months or a year.

3. Upon starting a new thread, sellers are to state the serial number as well as the closing date/time of the auction thread in the title. If there is a duplicate due to precise duplicate double entry by different members, the mod will then edit.

Example: Auction #xxxx - Amulet details (End 30 May, 2359H)

4. Sellers are to declare the auction winner by themselves. Once declared, only then the thread will be closed and moved.

Bidding Procedures

1. Everyone can bid, even non members of the forum. Non member will need to register in order to bid or buy.

2. As mentioned, there will be no reserve price. Your start bid price will be considered as your reserve price. If you want to put your amulet for bid, the highest bidder will get the amulet.

3. Every Bid has to be posted here. Private messaging, sms, whatsapp or any other form of messaging will not be recognised. This is the privilege of being a member here. And this will also ensure transparency. Please accompany all bids by a contact number. This can be posted or by private messaging if one is not comfortable with his contact number shown.

4. All defects and condition of amulet is to be correctly listed. For any amulet not as described, bidder can ultimately reject the amulet upon viewing. i.e. slight chipped, crack line, etc

5. Collection date and place to be listed accordingly. If you cannot meet the collection date/place, please do not bid as you'll then be listed as an aeroplane bidder. The time and date should also not be changed as bidders find it very difficult to keep track. Lame excuses of parents/girlfriends/wives not allowing will not be entertained. Please ask permission if you need, before you bid.

6. "Aeroplane Bidder" will not be able to participate in subsequent auctions, this is to protect the interests of auctioneers.

7. Closing Time will be forum time.

8. Sellers should not withdraw their sale prematurely. Same excuses of wives/girlfriends/parents not allowing the sale will not be entertained. Please ask permission if you need, before putting up for bidding.

9. Changing of terms and conditions after the auction starts is not allowed. Eg, the amulet comes with 3 competition certificates but halfway through you claimed there are only 2.

10. Doublenicks/duplicate accounts that are used to boost the sales on the bidding will be disabled and exposed accordingly, so please do not try.

11. In the event of a tie upon Auction close, the 2 following scenarios determine the winner:
a. 2 or more bids at the same end time, all with same bid amount, the first bid wins.
b. 2 or more bids at the same end time with different bid amount, the highest bid amount wins.

12. Optional: Sellers can list a "Buy Now Price". This is defined as a price where the moment it is reached, all bidding will stop and the amulet considered sold. This is also the highest price the seller expect from the amulet. However, you cannot list a "Buy Now Price" in the midst of an ongoing auction.

13. You may ask questions but no chit chatting and off topic discussions in the thread. Such posts will be removed and reputation points deducted.

14. Please auction only genuine Thai amulets. If seller is unsure of its amulet authenticity, refrain from auctioning.

15. Sellers are entitled to all their pricing as dictated for Start Price, increment value and Buy Now Price.

16. Last bit not least, the management will not be held liable in the entire course of bidding and after sales matters.

Default Frequently Asked Questions

Quote:
Seller auction amulet for Start Price = $30, increment per bid = $2, Buy Price Now = $60. After 3 days auction ends. Nobody bids. Then how?
Good news, you get to keep your amulet.

Quote:
Seller auction amulet for Start Price = $30, increment per bid = $2, Buy Price Now = $60. After 3 days auction ends. Final bid is $38. Must I sell?
Yes you must sell. For $38, it is already higher than the Start Price (Which is also the Reserved Price). If seller do not sell, he/she earned the "Aeroplane Seller" title.

Quote:
What happen if seller backed out during or after auction is closed?
Depending on the situation. Special cases like if the amulet breaks or suffer serious damage due to unforeseen circumstances during or after the auction, seller can void the deal. Please post the broken picture to the thread for accountability.

Other cases such as during the auction of the particular amulet, there is a sudden market surge in amulet price, seller is not allowed to withdraw or alter the Start Price or Buy Price. Doing so will resulted in a "Aeroplane seller" title bestowed to you by the management, regardless of type of membership.

Quote:
What happen if buyer backed out during/after auction is closed?
Then why bid in the first place? Same, "Aeroplane Buyer". The next higher bidder wins the bid.

Quote:
I have an amulet put up on sale in the sales mart, can I put it up for auction too?
Yes you may. But please take note of the following;

1. Buy Now Price is compulsory when there is existing sale of the same amulet in the sales mart. The Buy Now Price must be equal or higher than the price indicated in the sales mart.

2. Amulet in auction overrides sales mart.

There has been cases whereby duplicate account was deliberately created to jack up auction prices. Such unscrupulous act is cheating and totally has no integrity in amulet sales transactions.

I give a final warning.

It is up to the seller to decide on his/her own auction.
